Pai and surroundings (I)

Pai - Thailand

What can be seen in the video?

The wonders of Pai, apart from its relaxed and chilled atmosphere, are its surroundings. It is almost a must to hire a scooter in this city to explore everything that has to offer.

There are some spots with hot springs around Pai. However, I decided to go (after my Couchsurfing host’s recommendation) to Muang Paeng Hot Springs, which are free. The drive to reach them is a bit long but nice and easy, which some sharp turns, but totally worth it.

The Big White Buddha of Chedi Phra That Mae Yen is another must-do in Pai. The climb has 353 steps (very doable) and, when you reach the top, there are very good panoramic views of the city itself. The Buddha statue is simply fantastic.

Finally, and because I am really intrigued by the Second World War, I couldn’t help but visit Pai Historical Bridge, around 7 kilometres outside of the city.

Where is it?
