It is time to be courageous

It is about time to jump into the water

Courage, is it a natural or acquired virtue? Or, maybe, should we say transmitted?

In any case, it is a very valuable virtue.

Clearly, the person who possesses it can do things that many others don’t even imagine in their best dreams.

Courage. It allows you to say yes. To try.

Fail to learn.

Succeed to keep going.

Keep going to grow.

But, how do they see a courageous person from outside? And, most importantly, how does a courageous person see him or herself?

From outside, I would venture to say that certain levels of courage are put under the same prism madness is put under. Others, however, are welcomed and celebrated, and, even, they produce such satisfaction to the rest, that they even enjoy it. Because they keep the flame of “goals can be achieved“ burning. They make that “one day. Some day“ possible. They let some people keep dreaming. And to make someone dream is simply marvellous.

But, what about the second question? A courageous person sees him or herself self-sufficient and independent. A person that has found his/her cause. In any case, like a regular person. Able to silence those voices of the society that try to frighten us. Those lucubrations about how everything can go wrong. To which, a courageous person answers: “Right! But, what if it goes well?. And, with the same ease, turns around and carries on. With a smile.

A smile that never ever should be lost. And, moreover, a beautiful and contagious smile. And that’s why, at the beginning of this post, I said that courage can be transmitted.

But, let’s go a little bit further. A courageous person is, can be or will be, yes. However, that person must be able to handle uncertainty with disposition and cold blood because, sometimes, difficult decisions have to be made.

Really?

Really.

If you think about it, your current situation is a combination of each and every decision you have made in your life. It doesn’t matter how tiny the decision may be, all of them make part of your present condition. You can go as back in time as you want, choose the most random decision that you can think of, that I can assure you that it had something to do with where you are right now and how you feel.

But, do you know the beauty of it all? That you are the architect of it. Decisions can be influenced and determined by external factors or by personal or external circumstances. But, after all, they have been made by you.

And here it comes the paradox of someone courageous. A courageous person is a selfish person. However, it is selfishness with no evil. Without the smallest ambition of hurting anyone but seeking what is best for oneself.

It is not about ego.

It is about doing what makes you happy.

It is about shaping your own destiny with your best decisions.

It is about being.

It is about being courageous.
