What can be seen in the video?

In this video, you can see the hike from the village of Kalaw to Inle Lake. It is a trekking of 3 days and 2 nights to cover a bit more than 60 kilometres.

It is, without any doubt, an experience worth doing which can be completed without the need for great fitness. The trek goes through traditional rural villages; a train station where you can experience Myanmar’s busy life; fields of turmeric, ginger, cauliflower, garlic, etc; a river that becomes an improvised bath and much more.

The nights are spent in local guesthouses and food is also served by local people - and, to be honest, it is quite good.

The end of the hike finishes with a boat ride that crosses Inle Lake and arrives at Nyaungshwe, which, most likely, will become your resting place for one or two days. There is the possibility to make a number of stops across the lake to visit silver, silk, lotus fibre and cotton handicrafts and also some souvenirs shops.

Finally, I would like to thank our guide Aung (from Ever Smile Trekking Service), Romarin, Raphael, Valentine, Georgia, Easton, Auxi, Thaïs, Eva, Miriam, Andrea, Luis and Ever for being top people and make this experience unforgettable.

Where is it?
